Conflicts The first conflict was person vs person. It was that because the tributes were in a fight to the death. They were all fighting against their neighboring districts. The 2nd conflict was person vs nature. That was a conflict because all the tributes had to live with a limited supply of food, water and lack of shelter. The final conflict is person vs self. That is a conflict because the tributes have no idea who to trust knowing in the end one of them is going to have to kill each other.

In the book the Hunger Games Katniss Everdeen never wanted herself or anyone close to her, such as her sister and her friend Gale, to participate in the annual Panem Hunger Games, but unfortunately her sister was chosen as the girl tribute for The Hunger Games in her first year of being placed into the Games, so she takes her chances in survival an fights till the end while experiencing true love, pain, bravery, and sadness.
Protagonist Katniss Everdeen was a protagonist because she made an alliance with Rue to prosper in the Hunger Games and then saved Peeta to help him survive. She has always had a fervor for hunting/gathering for others, in this case Peeta, and helping those close to her. she is used to protecting the ones she loves. Peeta Mellark was a protagonist because he tried protecting Katniss, in the Games, after all the years of secretly loving her. He has helped her in times of need, food wise, being a good guy to her. Haymitch Abernathy was a protagonist because he gave Peeta and Katniss advice on how to win the games. He is a helpful man, in this case. He is also a man to his word, because he promised to help Katniss and Peeta , showing he is a protagonist, if they listen to what they are told to.
Antagonist Cato was an antagonist because he was a career tribute and betrayed many others. He was also from the wealthiest district which many people hated. He was very full of himself and as a show off. No one favored him at all. He is violent, vicious, cold hearted person. Clove was an antagonist because she is also a career tribute and nobody likes them. She is just like Cato.
Climax
The climax in this novel is very emotional and exciting. The climax is when Peeta and Katniss go together to fight Cato. The founder of the Hunger Games, decides to give the remaining characters a challenge. The challenge is to survive a wolf like creature they created. Then they decide to have the wolf-like creatures attack Cato to make the games more intense. Eventually Peeta and Katniss pulled it off and as the wolves slowly injured him. Then Katniss risks her last arrow to shoot Cato and she prevails impaling it through his skull.
Resolution After the death of Cato, the founder of the Games, changes the rules from two winners possibly from the same District so that Katniss and Peeta both can't prevail. So they decide that they both are going to kill themselves so that no one wins because they don't want one to win over the other. The founder of the Games gets angry because he has to have a winner for the games. He decides to change the rule back so they can both win. Katniss and Peeta both survive and they win the games.
